CEO, Founder

Daddy Mohlala

Good branding is arguably the most important thing when it comes to ensuring the success of your business. It is as equally important to know who your audience and be able to cater to that market. The positive impact of branding is what inspired Daddy Mohlala to pursue a career in this field.

He developed a fascination with brands, graphic design, videography and all things visual from a young age. Over 13 years later, it is no surprise that he is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brave People.

Before the creation of Brave People,  a  leader in design thinking and concepts, he founded Birthed Media which grew into an extremely successful media company in the Mpumalanga area. He then rebranded and repositioned his media company to become a fully comprehensive digital and branding agency. His unique ability to translate the ideals of an organisation into creative meaningful graphical representation have positioned him as a leader in his field. He often shares insights on business to his social media followers reaching and inspiring others and has created platforms such as the EMalahleni Network Forum to create access and opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs in his hometown of eMalahleni.

Having spent most of his career in the media space, Mohlala advocates for the critical role that marketing and branding plays in supporting the digital economic activity. He is recognised for his business excellence and is a co-author of Africa 80, a platform that amplifies the voices of Africa’s youth while celebrating and reinforcing their collaborative solutions to Africa’s challenges. For Daddy, a high-performance culture should be created and embedded in a winning company’s DNA, and there are no short cuts.

He is under no illusion as to the magnitude of his task at Brave People. Daddy is also focused on helping young people find a voice in the digital age. He believes that a brand is no different to people’s perception and that perception will match reality over time.

What makes Mohlala particularly well-placed to succeed is that he has never been a narrow-focused marketing and brand specialist but has always sought to play a critical role in developing and empowering young people to thrive in business.
